As a coach:

Respect the rights, dignity and worth of each and every person and treat each equally within the context of the sport.

Place the well-being and safety of each player above all other considerations, including the development of performance.

Develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based on mutual trust and respect.

Encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.

Ensure that the activities they direct are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience and ability of players.

At the outset, clarify with the players (and, where appropriate, parent) exactly what is expected of them and also what they are entitled to expect from their coach.

Co-operate fully with other specialists (e.g. other coaches, officials, sports scientists, doctors, physiotherapists) in the best interests of the player.

Always promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play) and never condone violations of the Laws of the Game, behaviour contrary to the spirit of the Laws of the Game, or the use of prohibited substances or techniques.

Display high standards of behaviour and appearance.

Do not use foul, sexist or racist language or harass players, coaches or match officials.

As a player:

Make every effort to develop their own sporting abilities, in terms of skill, technique, tactics, stamina and understanding the rules of the game.

Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if his team is in a position where the desired result has already been achieved.

Set a positive example for others, particularly young players and supporters.

Avoid all forms of poor gamesmanship and time-wasting.

Always have regard for the best interests of the game.

Do not use foul, sexist or racist language or harass players, coaches or match officials.

Know and abide by the Laws, rules and spirit of the game, and the competition rules.

Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally.

Resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques.

Treat opponents with due respect at all times, irrespective of the result of the game.

Accept the decision of the Match Official without protest.

Avoid words or actions which may mislead a Match Official.

Show due respect towards Match Officials.

Abide by the instructions of their Coach and Team Officials, provided they do not contradict the spirit of this Code.

Show due respect towards the Team Officials of the opposition.

Show due respect to the interests of supporters from both your own team and the opposition.

As a club/team official:

Set a positive example for others, particularly young players and supporters.

Do not use foul, sexist or racist language or harass players, coaches or match officials.

Promote and develop his own team having regard to the interest of the Players, supporters and reputation of the national game.

Share knowledge and experience when invited to do so, taking into account the interest of the body that has requested this rather than personal interests.

Avoid all forms of poor gamesmanship.

Show due respect to Match Officials and others involved in the game.

Not use or tolerate inappropriate language.

Promote ethical principles.

Show due respect for the interests of the players, coaches and officials, their own Club/team and others.

Show due respect for the interests of supporters from both your own team and the opposition.

As a parent/guardian:

Teach your child to treat everyone equally and sensitively regardless of their gender, ethnic origin or cultural background.

Do not force an unwilling child to take part in Rugby League.

Encourage your child always to play by the rules and to respect the match officials.

Never ridicule or shout at your child for making a mistake or losing a game.

Teach your child that effort and teamwork are as important as victory, so that the result of each game is accepted without due disappointment.

Insist on fair and discipline play - do not tolerate foul play, cheating, foul, sexist or racist language.

Do not question publicly the judgement of match officials and never their honesty.

Recognise the value and importance of volunteer coaches and administrators - they give their time, energy, and resources to enable your child to play Rugby League.

Support all efforts to remove verbal, physical, sexist and racial abuse from Rugby League.

Do not use foul, sexist or racist language or harass players, coaches or match officials.

As a spectator:

Remember the players are taking part for their enjoyment, not yours.

Do not use foul, sexist or racist language or harass players, coaches or match officials.

Verbal abuse of players or match officials is not acceptable in any shape or form.

Show respect for opponents and match officials.

Acknowledge good performance and fair play by opponents as well as your own team.

Condemn the use of violence in all forms.

Do not ridicule players who make mistakes.
